Coding
Programming is just writing in the language of computers. Coding is the act of writing a program in a programming language. When people say you will need to know coding, they are saying you need to know two things: You need to know the language and you need to know how to use the language. The "coding" is how you speak to a computer. You are telling the computer what to do.

Typing
Developing strong typing skills in elementary school helps students build a foundation for lifelong learning and success. Early practice allows children to type with speed and accuracy, making it easier for them to complete schoolwork, explore creative projects, and communicate effectively in our digital world. Just like learning to write neatly with a pencil, learning to type well frees students to focus on their ideas instead of the mechanics—setting them up for confidence and efficiency in all future technology use.
NJSLA Preparation
Practicing for the NJSLA helps students feel confident and prepared to show what they know. By becoming familiar with the test format and question types, students can focus on demonstrating their skills instead of figuring out how the test works. Regular practice builds comfort with the online tools, strengthens problem-solving abilities, and reduces test-day anxiety—allowing students to perform their best and show their true understanding.
